MANGUPURA, NusaBali.com – Heavy rain and strong winds once again disrupted flight operations at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Tuban, Kuta District, Badung, on Tuesday (11/2/2025).

As of 2:00 PM WITA, four flights were affected due to the unpredictable weather conditions. This disruption follows a similar incident on Monday (10/2), when extreme weather caused disturbances to 11 flights at the airport.

According to Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, the affected flights on Tuesday included one delayed flight, two diverted flights, and one go-around flight before it was able to land safely.

"As of Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM WITA, four flights were impacted by extreme weather: one domestic delayed flight, two domestic diverted flights, and one domestic go-around flight due to severe weather conditions around I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport," he stated on Tuesday afternoon.

Ahmad Syaugi elaborated that the delayed flight was a Wings Air flight on the Denpasar-Lombok route. Meanwhile, the diverted flights included a Lion Air flight from Semarang, which was redirected to Surabaya, and a charter flight from Bundi to Denpasar, which was diverted to Lombok. Additionally, an AirAsia flight on the Jakarta (CGK)-Denpasar route was forced to perform a go-around before safely landing.

This disruption follows a series of weather-related disturbances on Monday (10/2), when 11 flights were affected. Among these were eight domestic flights experiencing delays, one domestic flight cancellation, and two international flights that had to perform go-arounds before landing safely.

Ahmad Syaugi emphasized that the airport authorities have been coordinating closely with airlines and relevant stakeholders to ensure safe and smooth operations. Passengers affected by the disruptions have been accommodated according to the applicable procedures.

"We urge all passengers using I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport to arrive well in advance of their departure time and to stay in close contact with their respective airlines for the latest updates on their flight schedules," he concluded. *ris
