Again, Foreigner Caused Rampage in Ubud, Bali

The Sectoral Police of Ubud cooperating with Public Order Enforcers Secured Adam James Geoghegan (29), a British guest who caused rampage and chaos in Ubud, Bali, on Tuesday (7/30/2019).

The Head of Unit of Criminal Investigation Bureau of Ubud, First Police Inspector Dewa Made Pramantara on behalf of The Head of Sectoral Police of Ubud, Police Commissioner Nyoman Nuryana stated that the 29 year old foreigner who stayed temporarily in RM Downton Guesthouse, Jalan raya Pengosekan, mas Village, Ubud sub-District, was diagnosed with depression for his inability to pay medical bill. 

It started when Adam was about to treat his injury on his left foot in Toya Clinic on Thursday (July 25), 07.21 a.m. (GMT +8). After he treated it the man was charged for IDR 1,800,000. The man was not bring any cash and thus left his phone as a guarantee. On the other hand, the person in charge for the payment in Toya Clinic did not accept the phone and instead, freeing Adam from the charge. However, the man insisted on paying. Later, at 13.00 p.m., the man came back and paid for IDR 200,000. 

“According to him, the money he gave was IDR 2,000,000. But his phone was returned to him anyhow,” stated the person in charge in Toya Clinic. 

On Tuesday (July 30), Adam came back to the clinic at 13.00 p.m. He was asking for his passport that was taken and confiscated. It made him caused rampage and blabbering nonsenses. “The passport was taken by a different party, but he caused rampage here.” He added. 

The local security secured him and he was taken into psychiatric hospital in Bangli to get the help he needed, as he was diagnosed with depression. The Head of Public Order Enforcers of Gianyar Regency, I Made Watha also gave a statement, “We are securing him as soon as we got the report from the locals, and further we will take him to the psychiatric hospital in Bangli as soon as we get his medical check-up from Public Health Office. *nvi (trans:yl)
