JAKARTA, NusaBali.com - The number of active Covid-19 cases in regions outside Java and Bali islands has reached 2,145, accounting for 11.4 percent of the total active cases in Indonesia.
Chief of the Covid-19 Handling Committee and National Economic Recovery (KPC-PEN), Airlangga Hartarto, conveyed this information at a press conference on Monday.
"Regions outside Java and Bali have recorded 82 new cases, of which 75 involve local transmission and seven foreign transmission, and three deaths," Hartarto, who is concurrently the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, said.
The reproduction rate in Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Papua has remained at 1, Maluku and Sulawesi at 0.99, and in Nusa Tenggara, it has increased slightly to 1.01, he disclosed.
"On the public mobility restriction (PPKM), we will evaluate it on January 31 (2022). From there, we can see our preparedness; regarding testing, tracing, we have a biweekly evaluation," he said.
Meanwhile, in terms of vaccinations, four provinces have yet to reach the national target of 70 percent, the minister informed. The four provinces are North Maluku which has a 68-percent vaccination rate, Maluku (66 percent), West Papua (46 percent), and Papua (26 percent), he added.
Speaking about the preparations for Mandalika MotoGP that will be held in Mandalika, West Nusa Tenggara, Hartarto said, the government has accelerated vaccination drives in the region.
So far, the first dose Covid-19 vaccination coverage in Central Lombok District, West Nusa Tenggara, has reached 87.9 percent, while the second dose coverage has been recorded at 61.1 percent, Hartarto said.
The government has also prepared booster vaccines that will be administered to 76,718 targeted recipients in the period from January to March, he added.
Meanwhile, in West Lombok District, the vaccination rate has reached 88 percent and 62 percent for the first and second doses, respectively, and 47 thousand vaccines have been prepared as boosters, the minister said.
"In Mataram City, the vaccination rate has reached 110 percent for the first dose and 78.6 percent for the second dose," he added. *ant
